An excerpt from WIP: Saving Eternity Within a few steps I reached the grass. Unspoken words stood between us. I grasped for something to say, to ask. “Wait!” Edward’s voice cut across the silence. I froze, pulling my coat tighter. A shiver of dread filled me. He came outside, his white hair blowing in the wind. His eyes darted about, as though he was afraid someone would hear. “It wasn’t an accident.” “What?” I stared at him. “Be careful, Adley.” He backed away and went inside. The door clicked shut.
