I ran across this in my WIP. What does it even mean? I have no clue. Anyone have these kind of gems buried in their stories? He walked along his personal road like a visitor—passing through—a mannequin placed here, then there, looking the part of whatever needed done. He had been living some fantasy life and forgot his real one.

My family's house had a creek behind it. My brothers played there more than I did, but I recall being intrigued by the frogs and turtles when I ventured down to it. My hesitance was spurred by Mom's harping about the possibility of encountering copperhead snakes there (MD right outside southeast Washington D.C.).
